The Palmyra palm tree represents the twin ideals of indigeneity and ingenuity, two attributes that we believe are key for sustainable and responsible natural resource governance.

Our founder's ancestral roots lie in Tamil Nadu, South India.  Here, dotting the coastal landscape is the indigenous Palmyra palm tree, known locally as the panai maram

For generations, every part of the Palmyra has been used to sustain local economies and communities. The classical Tamil poem Tala Vilasam enumerates 801 of these uses, thereby also illustrating our deep connection to nature and its role in fostering the best of human ingenuity.

As a symbol for our approach, the Palmyra keeps us rooted, creative and resilient in meeting natural resource governance challenges head on.
